Abstract:

Cílem této práce bylo prozkoumat různé přístupy strojového učení k ověřování pravosti podpisů a navrhnout systém, který by byl schopný rozeznat pravé a falešné podpisy. Pro tuto úlohu byly zvoleny siameské konvoluční neuronové sítě. Síť byla natrénována na SigComp2011 datasetu. Byla provedena optimalizace hyperparametrů, kvalita natrénovaných modelů byla posuzována podle toho, kolik zachytily padělků. Tato optimalizace byla provedena pomocí hardware MetaCentrum výpočetního gridu. Navrhovaný systém dosáhl dobrých výsledků na SigComp2011 datasetu, zvládl odhalit přibližně dvanáct ze třinácti padělků. Na CEDAR datasetu však systém dobrých výsledků nedosáhl, pravděpodobně proto, že tento dataset je těžší na rozpoznání. Nicméně byl stále lepší než naivní klasifikátor. Poznatky v této práci mohou být použity Konicou Minoltou nebo dalšími firmami a výzkumníky, kteří by rádi implementovali svůj vlastní systém na ověřování podpisů.

Abstract:

The goal of this thesis is to explore various machine learning approaches to signature verification and create a system that can distinguish between genuine and forged signatures. For this task, Siamese convolutional neural networks were chosen. The network was trained on the SigComp2011 signature dataset. Hyperparameter tuning was applied, prioritizing networks that would miss the smallest number of forgeries. The tuning was run on the MetaCentrum computing grid. The system performed well on the SigComp2011 test data, detecting twelve out of thirteen forgeries. The system did not show good results on the CEDAR dataset, which contains signatures that are probably more difficult for recognition. Nevertheless, the system was more accurate than a naive classifier. The outcome of this thesis can be used as a starting point for Konica Minolta or other companies and researchers that wish to implement their own signature verification system.
