Use of remote sensing data on the agenda of the municipality with the enlarged scope of authority

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit, jaké jsou možnosti využití volně dostupných satelitních dat vhodných pro využití na malém území, což je v tomto případě správní obvod obce s rozšířenou působností Kuřim, a vytvořit mapovou aplikaci, která bude poskytovat výsledné tematické mapové vrstvy. V práci je teoreticky definováno, co je to dálkový průzkum Země (DPZ), jaké jsou možnosti využití dat z DPZ, jaké jsou systémy a poskytovatelé těchto dat. V práci jsou podrobně rozebrány konkrétní postupy a metody, jak jde tato data využít a také jak s těmito a dalšími geodaty správní úřady zachází. Pro práci jsou na základě podmínek dostupnosti a prostorového rozlišení satelitních snímků zvolena data ze systémů Landsat, Sentinel a PlanetScope. Na základě těchto teoretických poznatků byl vytvořen dotazník pro pracovníky městského úřadu Kuřim, aby vyjádřili názor, zda jsou pro ně jednotlivá témata prospěšná či zajímavá. Následně byly v prostředí ArcGIS Pro vytvořeny jednotlivé mapové tematické vrstvy a prostřednictvím ArcGIS Online byly tyto mapy poskytnuty městskému úřadu Kuřim ke zveřejnění.

Abstract:

The main goal of this diploma thesis is to find out what are the possibilities of using freely available satellite data suitable for use in a small area, which in this case is the administrative district of the municipality Kuřim, and to create a map application that will provide the resulting thematic map layers. The thesis theoretically defines what is remote sensing (RS), what are the possibilities of using remote sensing data, what are the systems and providers of this data. The work discusses in detail the specific procedures and methods of how to use this data and how these and other geodata are handled by administrative authorities. Data from the Landsat, Sentinel and PlanetScope systems were selected for work based on the conditions of availability and spatial resolution of satellite images. Based on these theoretical findings, a questionnaire was created for employees of the Kuřim municipal office to express an opinion on whether individual topics are beneficial or interesting for them. Subsequently, individual map thematic layers were created in the ArcGIS Pro environment, and through ArcGIS Online, these maps were provided to the Kuřim Municipal Authority for publication.
