Ve znalecké praxi jsou identifikační znaky vozidel důležité pro správnou identifikaci posuzovaného vozidla. Ztotožnění vozidla a kontrola identifikátorů jsou nezbytnou sou-částí znaleckého posudku. Tato práce se zabývá popisem identifikačních znaků vozidel, jsou vysvětleny jednotlivé druhy identifikátorů, zásady a způsoby jejich využití.
