Comparison of pension systems of selected OECD countries

Abstract:

V současné době dochází k prudkému nárůstu počtu seniorů v naší populaci, jenž s sebou nese spoustu nových poznatků a otázek. Stárnutí populace, snižování ekonomické produktivity a zvyšování sociálních výdajů za starobní péči vede k finanční nerovnováze a k vyšším výdajům za důchody, což často způsobuje deficit v rozpočtu. Předpokládá se, že prodlužování střední délky života společně s poklesem porodnosti v nadcházejících letech zatíží financování veřejných penzijních systémů. Nedávné důchodové reformy provedené některými zeměmi sice zmírnily finanční zátěž důchodových systémů, ale pro dlouhodobou finanční udržitelnost důchodových systémů by měla být přijata další nezbytná opatření. Cílem této práce je porovnat důchodové systémy v České republice, na Slovensku a ve Švédsku, zjistit odlišnosti těchto systémů a pomocí kritérií a ukazatelů zhodnotit finanční udržitelnost důchodových systémů.

Abstract:

Currently, there is a sharp increase in the number of seniors in our population, which brings with it a lot of new knowledge and questions. An aging population, a reduction in economic productivity and an increase in social expenditure on old-age care lead to financial imbalances and higher expenditure on pensions, often causing budget deficits. It is assumed that the increase in life expectancy, together with the decline in the birth rate, will put a strain on the financing of public pension systems in the coming years. While recent pension reforms implemented by some countries have eased the financial burden on pension systems, other necessary measures should be taken for the long-term financial sustainability of pension systems. The aim of this work is to compare pension systems in the Czech Republic, Slovakia and Sweden, to find out the differences between these systems and to evaluate the financial sustainability of pension systems with the help of criteria and indicators.
