Church Reforms of Joseph II.

Abstract:

V dnešní době je na rozdíl od historie vliv církve na politiku a obyvatelstvo minimální. Dříve ale hrála důležitou roli církev a náboženství a to jak ve vnitřní, tak i vnější politice a společenském životě. Tato diplomová práce se zabývá církevními reformami Josefa II. Jejím cílem je zaměřit se na význam vlády Josefa II. a jeho církevních reforem na tehdejší i současnou společnost a církev. Současné situaci v církvi v České republice předcházela mnohá století trvající historie, ve které se neustále měnila role a význam katolické církve. Ačkoliv nemá v dnešní době církev na politiku i populaci výrazný vliv, před několika stovkami let tomu tak nebylo. Církev a náboženství hrálo významnou roli ve vnitřní i zahraniční politice i v denním životě občanů. Josef II. významně ovlivnil svými reformami nejen situaci ohledně církve v monarchii, ale také vnitřní a vnější politiku země. I přes jeho krátkou desetiletou dobu vládnutí měly jeho reformy velký vliv na dějiny práva v dalších letech.

Abstract:

Today, in contrast to history, the influence of the church on politics and the population is minimal. In the past, however, the church and religion played an important role in both internal and external politics and social life. This diploma thesis deals with the church reforms of Joseph II. Its aim is to focus on the importance of the reign of Joseph II. and his ecclesiastical reforms to the then and present society and the church. The current situation in the Church in the Czech Republic was preceded by many centuries of history, in which the role and importance of the Catholic Church was constantly changing. Although the Church does not have a significant influence on politics and the population today, this was not the case several hundred years ago. The church and religion played an important role in domestic and foreign policy as well as in the daily lives of citizens. Joseph II his reforms significantly influenced not only the situation regarding the church in the monarchy, but also the internal and external policies of the country. Despite his short ten-year reign, his reforms had a major impact on the history of law in the years to come.
