Injury of the knee joint in the highest czech floorball league in season 2021/2022

Abstract:

Hlavním cílem této diplomové práce bylo určit nejčastější typy zranění a jejich okolnosti vzniku z nasbíraných dat od klubů z nejvyšší české florbalové soutěže mužů. Součástí práce bylo srovnání výskytu a vážnosti zranění kolenního kloubu oproti jiným zraněním a tento poznatek porovnat se studiemi zabývajícími se florbalem převážně z České republiky, Finska, Švédska a Švýcarska. Studie také přináší porovnání zranění ve florbalu a v dalších kolektivních sportech. Celkem 252 hráčů odpovídalo kritériím pro zařazení do studie, z nich pak u 57 došlo ke zranění. Z výzkumu vyplývá, že nejrizikovější pro muže hrající florbal jsou oblasti kolenního a hlezenního kloubu. Pravděpodobné je zranění těchto kloubů hlavně na začátku nebo také na konci soutěžního období, častěji dochází ke zraněním během zápasu reakčním a kontaktním způsobem v druhé třetině utkání. Nejvážnější úrazy jsou v oblasti kolenního kloubu. Data byla získána po florbalové sezóně 2021/2022 formou pohovorů s jednotlivými fyzioterapeuty z klubů. Výsledky studie a zjištěné informace z dalších studií mají význam pro prevenci a rehabilitaci nejenom florbalových zranění, ale mohou přispět k větší bezpečnosti sportu obecně.

Abstract:

The main aim of this thesis was to determine the most common types of injuries and their circumstances of occurrence from data collected from clubs in the top Czech men's floorball competition. Part of the thesis was to compare the incidence and severity of knee injuries compared to other injuries and to compare this finding with studies dealing with floorball mainly from the Czech Republic, Finland, Sweden and Switzerland. The study also provides a comparison of injuries in floorball and other team sports. A total of 252 players met the inclusion criteria for the study, 57 of whom sustained an injury. The research shows that the knee and ankle joint areas are the most risky for men playing floorball. Injuries to these joints are more likely to occur mainly at the beginning or also at the end of the competitive period, and injuries are more likely to occur in a reactionary and contact manner in the second third of the match. The most seriuos injuries are located in the knee joint. Data were collected after the 2021/2022 floorball season by interviewing individual club physiotherapists. The results of the study and the findings from other studies have implications for the prevention and rehabilitation of injuries other than floorball injuries and may contribute to the safety of sport in general.
