Implementation of the Design Thinking in the Learning Process at Universities

Abstract:

Tato Diplomová práce pojednává o způsobu celosemestrální projektové výuky s aplikací metod design thinking na českých vysokých školách. V teoretické části jsou uvedeny pro-blematiky: vysokých škol, osobního rozvoje, design thinking a marketingového výzkumu. Praktická část se pak věnuje prvnímu ročníku semestrálního projektu iLab s aplikací metod design thinkig, jehož prvky jsou v úvodu této části popsány. Dále následuje interpretace a analýza rozhovorů s absolventy projektu iLab, kteří v rozhovorech hodnotili průběh celého projektu. V rámci sdělování svých postojů studenti popsali také tipy na změny pro následu-jící ročníky tohoto projektu. Následuje SWOT analýza, která vyjmenovává silné a slabé stránky společně s příležitostmi a hrozbami, které jsou pak vzájemně konfrontovány. Z praktické části vychází část projektová, která na základě získaných dat vystavuje návod-ný popis fungování semestrálního projektu s aplikací metod design thinking. V této projek-tové části jsou uvedeny jak stěžejní prvky v organizaci, tak ve vybavení projektu a obsahuje i popis některých postupů, které by měli tvůrci projektu dodržet tak, aby bylo maximálně dosaženo cíle projektu, kterým je co největší osobní přínos zúčastněných studentů.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis main theme is principles of a semestral educating projects which apply the methods of design thinking and application of this project in the Czech University education system. The theoretical part of this thesis, introduce problematics of Czech University education system, personal development, soft skills, design thinking, and marketing research. The practical part presents the design thinking methods using project iLab which elements are described at the beginning of the practical part. Further, the following part presents the interpretation and analysis of interviews with the graduates in which they as-sess the whole project. In interviews, students shared not only their deep insights but also some hints for the organization of such a project in the future. Subsequently, thesis includes a SWOT analysis that names strong and weak together with opportunities and threats which are then confronted for a bigger outcome. Finally, the conclusions of the practical part are used in the following part which describes specific semestral educating project and its design with the application of Design Thinking methods. The project part describes necessary organization elements, structure, processes and needed tools to be used for the future development of a semestral educating project. To conclude the listed elements are identified as vital to achieving the main goal of the semestral project which is the personal development for students who take part in the project.
