Tato práce zkoumá vliv pořádání Zimních olympijských her ve Vancouveru v roce 2010 na zaměstnanost a mzdy v Britské Kolumbii. Ke zkoumání jsou použity modely Differences-in-differences ze studie Hotchkiss, Moore a Zobay (2003). Vlivy byly zkoumány na čtvrtletních datech od roku 2002 do roku 2014. Abstract:
This thesis tries to determine the impact of the 2010 Winter Olympic Games on employment and wages in British Columbia using models with Differences-in-differences technique from Hotchkiss, Moore a Zobay (2003). The impact is studied on quarterly data from 2002 to 2014. Those models are estimated by OLS regression analysis. Results determine insignificant positive impact of 2010 Winter Olympic Games …more
