Bakalářská práce se zabývá zobrazením toposu ostrova v románu Pavučina (1980) Johna Wyndhama. Teoretická část se zabývá termíny úzce souvisejícími s prací a nastíní vnímání ostrova v průběhu historie. Časté používané ostrovní motivy, které se vyskytují v literatuře tvoří podklad pro analytickou část. This bachelor thesis deals with the depiction of the island topos in the novel Web (1980) by John Wyndham. The theoretical part deals with the terms closely related with the thesis and outlines the perception of islands throughout history.
