Informing high school students about sexually transmitted diseases

Abstract:

Tématem této bakalářské práce je informovanost studentů středních škol o pohlavně přenosných chorobách. Práce se skládá z teoretické části, která popisuje několik vybraných sexuálně přenosných chorob, včetně kapavky, syfilidy, chlamydií, HPV infekce, HIV a AIDS. Teoretická část také zahrnuje popis významu výchovy k reprodukčnímu zdraví, prevence a rizikového chování u mladistvých. Hlavním cílem práce bylo zjistit informovanost středoškoláků o sexuálně přenosných chorobách pomocí průzkumného šetření na středních školách s použitím nestandardizovaného dotazníku. Vyhodnocení dotazníků bylo prezentováno formou grafů a tabulek, které jsou k dispozici v této bakalářské práci spolu s podrobným zhodnocením průzkumu. Tento průzkum umožnil odhalit nedostatky v informovanosti studentů v oblasti pohlavně přenosných chorob, zejména v tématu HPV infekce, kdy šetření odhaluje studentskou neucelenou informovanost tohoto onemocnění. Problematickým se zdá pro studenty být i celková informovanost ohledně pohlavních chorob, zejména týkající se jejich přenosu a způsobu ochrany před těmito nákazami.

Abstract:

The topic of this bachelor thesis is the awareness of secondary school students about sexually transmitted diseases. The thesis consists of a theoretical section that describes several selected sexually transmitted diseases including gonorrhoea, syphilis, chlamydia, HPV infection, HIV and AIDS. The theoretical section also includes a description of the importance of reproductive health education, prevention and risk behaviors in adolescents. The main objective of the study was to determine the awareness of sexually transmitted diseases among secondary school students through a survey in secondary schools using a non-standardized questionnaire. The evaluation of the questionnaires was presented in the form of graphs and tables which are available in this bachelor thesis along with a detailed evaluation of the survey. This survey allowed to reveal gaps in students' awareness of STDs, especially on the topic of HPV infection, where the survey reveals students' incomplete awareness of the disease. Students' overall awareness of STDs, especially regarding their transmission and how to protect themselves from these infections, also appears to be problematic.
