The Relations in Autobiographical Stories of Adolescents: The Understanding of Attachment Styles in Personal Narratives

Abstract:

Práce se zabývá narativní analýzou autobiografických příběhů dospívajících psaných v jedenácti, ve třinácti, v patnácti a v sedmnácti letech. Analýza vychází z kategorizace modalit agency a communion McAdamse (2001) a dále z kategorizace narativního ladění. Cílem výzkumu je snaha o uchopení citové vazby prostřednictvím autobiografických příběhů. Výzkumná část se nejdříve věnuje určení možných vývojových tendencí ve výskytu proměnných agency, communion a narativní ladění v osobních příbězích v období dospívání a dále se pak výzkum zabývá souvislostí těchto tří proměnných s citovou vazbou. Výzkumný soubor tvoří respondenti longitudinální studie ELSPAC a do výzkumu bylo zahrnuto celkem 347 příběhů. Výsledky naznačily určitou stabilitu modality agency a narativního ladění v průběhu dospívání, a to především ve výzkumném souboru. Významná souvislost s citovou vazbou však u sledovaných proměnných prokázána nebyla. Možné vztahy byly naznačeny pouze u 17letých pro modalitu agency a communion a u 11letých pro narativní ladění. Zajímavé výsledky však naznačily analýzy podle pohlaví, a to jak při sledování vývojových tendencí a stability proměnných, tak při zkoumání souvislostí.

Abstract:

This study deals with the narrative analysis of autobiographical stories written by 11-, 13-, 15- and 17-year-old adolescents. It results from the categorization of modalities agency and communion by McAdams (2001) and from the categorization of narrative tone. The main research target of this study is the understanding of attachment by autobiographical stories. The research part deals with determination of possible developmental tendencies of the three variables in the autobiographical stories in the period of the adolescence and then with the association of these three variables with the attachment in the adolescence. Responders, forming the research set, are from the longitudinal study ELSPAC and 347 their texts were included into the research. The results of the research have marked some continuity of modality agency and narrative tone in the period of adolescence, especially for the research group. However, significant association with the attachment was not prove. Possible relations were indicated only for the category of 17-year-old for the modalities agency and communion and for the category of 11-year-old for the narrative tone. Interesting results were described by analysis made separately for girls and boys from the research set.
