Impact of Covid-19 pandemic on toursim in Ghana focusing on tour guides

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá dopady pandemie Covid-19 na turismus v Ghaně se zaměřením na práci turistických průvodců. V teoretické části se zaměřím na vývoj Covidu-19 ve světě a v Ghaně. Dále se zaměřím na Ghanskou republiku, její historii a současnost. V teoretické části definuji druhy turismu, jeho aktéry a významná turistická místa, která se v Ghaně nachází. Analytická část bude obsahovat výsledky terénního výzkumu, který probíhal během praktické stáže v Ghaně v měsících listopadu a prosinci roku 2021. Sběr dat pro terénní výzkum probíhal pomocí realizace polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, které jsou zpracovány obsahovou analýzou.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic on tourism in Ghana, focusing on the work of tourist guides. The theoretical part focuses on development of Covid-19 in the world and in Ghana. I will also focus on the Republic of Ghana, its history and present. In the theoretical part I define the types of tourism, its actors and important tourist sites located in Ghana. The analytical part will contain the results of field research, which took place during a practical internship in Ghana in November and December 2021. Data collection for field research took place through the implementation of semi-structured interviews, which are processed by content analysis.
