Athanor's journey - from illegal production of the 1980s to post-socialist conditions
Abstract:
This bachelor thesis focuses on the effect of the independent production group Athanor, founded by Jan Švankmajer and Jaromír Kallista at the beginning of the eighties of the 20th century, which was later legalized in 1993 as Athanor s.r.o. The thesis examines the transition from the illegal production of the 1980s to post-socialist conditions of their studio and their producting practise. It focuses …more
