Health risk assessment of volatile organic compounds in the air in the Krušné hory

Abstract:

Životní prostředí, zejména ovzduší, je ovlivňováno negativními faktory, které mají dopad jak na prostředí, tak i na naše lidské zdraví. Dosažení nulových koncentrací polutantů v ovzduší je ilusorní, ale na snížení a udržování v akceptovatelných hodnotách se můžeme podílet téměř všichni. Znečištěné ovzduší je tedy ustavičně aktuálním problémem, který je nezbytné řešit a předejít jeho zhoršování. Jeden z těchto faktorů jsou právě námi sledované složky VOC, kterými se v naší práci budeme zabývat. Naše práce obsahuje popis jednotlivých látek VOC a jejich chování k lidskému, popř. zvířecímu organismu. Poté se věnujeme metodice nejdříve v teoretické rovině a následně ji převedeme do praxe. S její pomocí vypočítáváme karcinogenní a nekarcinogenní riziko singulárních látek VOC. Posléze hodnotíme nejistoty, které jsou s výpočty spjaty a navrhujeme řešení ke snížení koncentrací těchto látek.

Abstract:

The environment, especially the air, is affected by negative factors that have an impact on both the environment and our human health. Achieving zero concentrations of pollutants in the air is illusory, but almost everyone can participate in reducing and maintaining acceptable values. Polluted air is therefore a constantly topical problem that needs to be solved and prevented from worsening. One of these factors is precisely the VOC components we monitor, which we will deal with in our work. Our work contains a description of individual VOC substances and their behavior towards humans, or animal organism. After that, we will first focus on the methodology at the theoretical level and then put it into practice. With its help, we calculate the carcinogenic and non-carcinogenic risk of single VOC substances. Finally, we evaluate the uncertainties associated with the calculations and propose solutions to reduce the concentrations of these substances.
