Je známo, že střevní mikrobiom hraje zásadní roli ve zdraví svého hostitele. Zatímco analýza bakteriálních sekvenačních dat se stala rutinně prováděnou praxí, analýza sekvencí hub a jejich ITS regionů dosud nebyla optimalizována.
