Prenatal Diagnosis of Chromosome Aberrations: A Retrospective Study

Abstract:

V rámci této retrospektivní studie byl analyzován soubor prenatálních cytogenetických vyšetření provedených na Oddělení lékařské genetiky Fakultní nemocnice Ostrava v letech 2013 až 2015. V tomto období bylo provedeno 876 prenatálních cytogenetických vyšetření, 316 v I. trimestru těhotenství a 560 ve II. trimestru těhotenství. Převládající indikací k prenatálnímu cytogenetickému vyšetření byl screening v I. nebo II. trimestru těhotenství: 527 případů, 60,2 %. Nejčastěji detekovanou aberací byla trizomie chromozomu 21 (Downův syndrom): 41 případů, 40,2 % všech diagnostikovaných chromozomových abnormalit. Celkový podíl nejčastějších aneuploidií autozomů (chromozomy 13, 18, 21) byl 59,8 %. Celkem byla diagnostikována nebalancovaná chromozomová aberace ve 102 případech (11,6 % vyšetření). Přibližně 1 z 9 vyšetření bylo pozitivní ve smyslu přítomnosti nebalancované chromozomové aberace. Věk pacientek se pohyboval mezi 15 až 45 lety, průměrný věk pacientek byl 33 let.

Abstract:

In this retrospective study, a set of prenatal cytogenetic examinations was carried out at the Department of Medical Genetics of the Faculty Hospital in Ostrava between 2013 and 2015. During this period, 876 prenatal cytogenetic examinations were performed, 316 in the 1st trimester of pregnancy and 560 in the 2nd trimester of pregnancy. The prevalent indication for prenatal cytogenetic examination was screening in I. or II. trimester of pregnancy: X cases, X %. The most commonly detected aberration was chromosome 21 (Down syndrome) trisomy: 41 cases, 40,2 % of all diagnosed chromosome abnormalities. The total share of the most common autosomal aneuploidy (chromosomes 13, 18, 21) was 59,8 %. In total, unbalanced chromosome aberration was diagnosed in 102 cases (11,6 % of the examination). Approximately 1 of 9 examinations were positive in the presence of unbalanced chromosome aberration. The age of the patients ranged from 15 to 45 years, the average age of the patients was 33 years.
