Brown adipose tissue in human

Abstract:

Od potvrzení výskytu funkční hnědé tukové tkáně u člověka zájem o tuto tkáň výrazně vzrostl. Jedná se o aktuální a stále se vyvíjející téma na poli vědy. Význam této tkáně spočívá zejména v její schopnosti netřesové termogeneze a svojí přítomností příznivě působí na lidské zdraví. Současně je předmětem zkoumání zejména v souvislosti medicínských přístupů v boji proti některým metabolickým poruchám, jako je například obezita či diabetes druhého typu. Hnědá tuková tkáň je ovlivňována řadou faktorů jak vnějšího, tak vnitřního charakteru. Výzkumy jsou zaměřeny na způsoby, jakými lze tuto tkáň aktivovat a rekrutovat. Předkládaná práce shrnuje současné poznatky na toto téma.

Abstract:

The interest in this tissue has increased significantly since the confirmation of the occurrence of functional brown adipose tissue in humans. This is a current and constantly evolving topic in the field of science. The importance of this tissue lies mainly in its ability of nonshivering thermogenesis, and its presence has a positive effect on human health. At the same time, it is the subject of research especially in the context of medical approaches in the fight against certain metabolic disorders, such as obesity or type 2 diabetes. Brown adipose tissue is affected by a number of factors, both external and internal. The research is focused on the ways in which this tissue can be activated and recruited. The following bachelor thesis summarizes the current knowledge of this topic.
