Mikrodelece 22. chromosomu je nejčastější příčinou DiGeorgeova syndromu. Především mikrodelece 22. chromosomu v lokusu q11.2 se vyskytne přibližně u 10 – 23 případů na 100 000 živě narozených dětí, často jako delece vzniklá de novo. Chromosome 22 microdeletion is present in the majority of patients with DiGeorge syndrome. Microdeletion 22q11.2 approximately occurs in 10 to 23 per 100,000 live births, mostly as a de novo deletion. The clinical spectrum in patients with DiGeorge syndrome is wide, ranging from isolated findings to severe multiorgan disorders.
