The rehabilitation of a sports patient in achilles tendon detachment and tenorraphy: clinical case

Abstract:

This compilatory dissertation concerns the Achilles tendon rupture, following the most recent scientific findings and analysing many operational techniques applied on the injury, focusing on reconstructive surgery and its effects in terms of resumption of physical activity. The athlete in the aftermath of detachment and tenorrhaphy of Achilles tendon. We will go through all the physiotherapeutic process: breakage, surgery, and complete recovery thanks to a personalized procedure made of workouts enhancing joint mobility, muscle strength, proprioception and sport-specification motility. We observed the full achievement of the set goals such as limiting pathology-due restrictions and resuming sports activity through the use of rating scales such as the Visual Analogical Scale and the Achilles tendon total rupture score during the first and the last physiotherapeutic sessions of the recovery path. Even by analysing only one case, thanks to scientific proofs, we deduce that sport-specific therapeutic workout is the best recovery approach for the injured athlete's return to activity.

Abstract:

Questa tesi compilativa tratta della rottura del tendine d'Achille avvalendosi delle pi? recenti evidenze in ambito scientifico analizzando i differenti tipi di intervento in seguito all'infortunio, ponendo il focus sulla ricostruzione chirurgica di un soggetto spotivo ed i suoi risultati in termini di ripresa dell'attivit?. Paziente sportivo in esito di distacco e tenorrafia del tendine d'Achille. Si ripercorre l'iter fisioterapico dalla rottura passando dall'operazione alla completa guarigione grazie ad un protocollo personalizzato di esercizi per la mobilit? articolare, il rinforzo muscolare, la propriocezione la motilit? sport-specificifica. Tramite la somministrazione di scale valutative quali la Visual Analogical Scale e la Achilles tendon total rupture score proposte durante la prima seduta di valutazione e riproposte al termine del percorso riabilitativo, sono stati raggiunti a pieno gli obiettivi prefissati quali ridurre le limitazioni date dalla patologia e la ripresa dell'attivit? sportiva. Nonostante venga preso in esame solo questo caso, avvalendosi di evidenze in ambito scientifico, si conclude che l'esercizio terapeutico sport-specifico possa essere il miglior approccio riabilitativo per la rimessa in campo di un paziente sportivo.
