Karcinogenní toxin arsen (As) se běžně vyskytuje v přírodě. Způsobuje různé chronické nemoci, jako jsou změny kůže, selhání orgánů a různé typy rakoviny. Světová zdravotnická organizace (WHO) doporučuje maximálně 10 ug/L jako bezpečnou hodnotu k pití. V případě Bangladéše vzrostla koncentrace až na 2000 ug/L. The carcinogenic toxin arsenic (As) is commonly present in nature and causes chronic diseases such as skin changes, organ failure and different types of cancer.
