Prisoners in the Caucasus by A. S. Pushkin, M. Y. Lermontov, L. N. Tolstoy and S. Chorny (an Attempt to Analyse Individual Approaches)

Abstract:

The Thesis of this bachelor thesis is to compare literary works under the title A Prisoner in the Caucasus by different authors: A.S. Pushkin (1822), M.J. Lermontov (1828), L.N. Tolstoy (1872) and S. Chorny (1929). The first chapter deals with certain works of each author and analyzes the reasons and motives that led the writers to create their works. The second chapter contains a comparative analysis of works of fiction, namely two poems, two short stories, as well as poems and short stories by Alexander Pushkin and Leo Nikolayevich Tolstoy. The third chapter defines the period in which all four works were written and identifies the distinctive features of each work in relation to the particular period in which it was produced. The fourth chapter contains comments and reflections by Czech literary critics on the works of A Prisoner in the Caucasus, as well as an examination of the degree of popularity of each of the four titles selected for analysis in the Czech Republic. The last or fifth chapter of this bachelor's thesis lists the literary works based on A Prisoner in the Caucasus that are analyzed in this bachelor's thesis.

Abstract:

Cílem této bakalářské práce je snaha porovnat literární díla pod názvem Kavkazský zajatec od různých autorů: A.S. Puškina (1822), M.J. Lermontova (1828), L.N. Tolstého (1872) a S. Čorného (1929). První kapitola se zabývá určitými díly jednotlivých autorů a analyzuje důvody a motivy, které spisovatele vedly k vytvoření jejich děl. Druhá kapitola obsahuje komparativní analýzu beletristických děl, konkrétně dvou básní, dvou povídek, ale také básně a povídky Alexandra Puškina a Lva Nikolajeviče Tolstého. Třetí kapitola vymezuje období, v němž byla všechna čtyři díla napsána a určuje charakteristické rysy jednotlivých děl v závislosti na konkrétním období, v němž byla vytvořena. Čtvrtá kapitola obsahuje komentáře a úvahy českých literárních kritiků k dílům Kavkazského zajatce a také zkoumání míry popularity každého ze čtyř titulů, vybraných k analýze, v České republice. V poslední neboli páté kapitole této bakalářské práce jsou uvedena literární díla, která vznikla podle "Kavkazských zajatců" a která jsou v dané bakalářské práci analyzována.
