Předkládaná práce se zabývá životem a rozborem povídek jednoho z nejvýraznějších představitelů americké židovské literatury 20. století Issacem Bashevisem Singerem. Isaac Bashevis Singer od dětství vyrůstal v ortodoxní židovské rodině a on sám, ovlivněn tímto prostředím hledal inspiraci pro svou tvorbu právě zde.
