The readiness of children leaving from children's homes for independent life on the outside

Abstract:

V diplomové práci se věnuji připravenosti dětí opouštějících dětské domovy na samostatný život. Cílem je zmapovat připravenost dětí opouštějících dětské domovy na samostatný život. Diplomovou práci jsem si rozdělila do dvou částí. V teoretické části se zabývám charakteristikou systému ústavní a ochranné výchovy a jednotlivými typy školských zařízení pro výkon ústavní a ochranné výchovy. Následně vymezuji dětský domov včetně důvodů umístění dítěte do tohoto domova. Součástí teoretické části je také odchod dítěte z dětského domova, kde se zaměřuji zejména na připravenost dítěte na samostatný život. Dále se věnuji obtížím mladých lidí opouštějících ústavní výchovu, variantám bydlení po odchodu z dětského domova a také projektům, které podporují děti opouštějící dětské domovy. Výzkumná část je založena na kvalitativní výzkumné strategii, která prostřednictvím případové studie, a to konkrétně formou polostrukturovaných rozhovorů, hledá odpověď na cíl výzkumu, kterým je zjistit názory dětí opouštějících dětské domovy na jejich připravenost na samostatný život po odchodu z dětského domova.

Abstract:

In my Diploma Thesis I deal with the readiness of children leaving the children´s homes for independent living. The Aim is to map the readiness of children leaving children´s homes for a separate life. I divided the Thesis into two parts. In the theoretical part I deal with the characteristics of the system of constitutional and protective education and the individual types of school facilities for the deed of institutional and protective education. Then I define a children´s home, including the reasons for placing the child in this home. Part of the theoretical part is also the departure of a child from the children´s home where I focus especially on the child´s readiness for an independent life. I also look at the difficulties of young people leaving institutional care, housing options after leaving the children´s home and projects that support children leaving children´s homes. The research part is based on a qualitative research strategy through the case study, especially then in a form of semi-structured interviews and it is trying to find the answer to the aim of the research. The Aim itself is to find out the opinions of children leaving children´s homes on their readiness for a separate life after leaving children´s home.
