Possible use of bass guitar in the lessons of music education from the perspective of the teacher

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá možnostmi uplatnění basové kytary z hlediska učitele ve vyučovacích procesech hudební výchovy na středních školách a gymnáziích. Cílem práce je navrhnout realizovatelnou koncepci výuky, představující inovativní a funkční alternativu k současným vyučovacím metodám v rámci tohoto předmětu. Hlavním záměrem této koncepce je všestranně rozvíjet hudebnost studentů, seznámit je s různými hudebními prvky, principy, postupy a pravidly v logickém pořadí dle jejich obtížnosti a členitosti, představit jim různé hudební žánry a na vhodně zvolených příkladech vysvětlit funkce různých hudebních prostředků. Mezi další cíle patří obhájení basové kytary jako použitelného a vhodného hudebního nástroje pro instrumentální doprovod hudebních činností ve škole. Práce je rozdělena na dvě části. První z nich reflektuje relevantní literaturu, zohledňuje nutné podmínky a předpoklady pro realizovatelnost koncepce, přibližuje historii instrumentálního doprovodu v hodinách hudební výchovy v českých zemích a charakterizuje zvolený hudební nástroj z hlediska jeho historie, konstrukční stavby, techniky hry a specifické funkce jeho použití v hudebních dílech. Druhá část práce představuje modelové hodiny hudební výchovy pracující s navrženou koncepcí, obsahuje konkrétní příklady různých typů činností a ukázky partitur pro instrumentální aktivity studentů.

Abstract:

This thesis is concerned with possible uses of bass guitar from the perspective of the teacher in the learning processes of music education in high schools. Intention of the thesis is to propose the realisable conception of the education presenting innovative and functional alternative to contemporary educational methods in terms of this subject. Main purpose of this conception is to diversify the musical appreciation of students, to introduce various musical elements, principles, processes and rules in logical order of their difficulty and segmentation, to present various music genres and to clarify the functions of various musical facilities with the use of proper examples. Other intentions are to vindicate the bass guitar as proper musical instrument usable for instrumental accompaniement in musical activities in the school. The thesis is divided into two parts. The first part reflects relevant literature, it makes provision of necessary conditions and premises for feasibility of thic conception, it introduces the history of instrumetal accompaniement in music lessons in Czech countries and characterizes chosen musical instrument in light of its history, construction, technics of playing and specifical functions of its usage in musical pieces. The second part represents model lessons of music education using this conception, it contains the concrete examples of various types of activities and demonstrations of scores, designed for instrumental activities of students.
