Formation of regional identity in the periphery ČR: case study Vranovsko

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá tématem regionální identity obyvatel. Modelové území tvoří obce mikroregionu Vranovsko, který je součástí ORP Znojmo a leží v Jihomoravském kraji. Tento region byl vybrán pro jeho specifickou periferní polohu a historii. V první části práce jsou stanoveny a definovány stěžejní pojmy řešené problematiky, vymezeno modelové území a zkoumán potenciál pro utváření regionální identity. V rámci praktické části práce bylo provedeno dotazníkové šetření a jeho prostřednictvím byla zkoumána regionální identita obyvatel mikroregionu. Dílčím cílem bylo také zjistit, co považují za symbol mikroregionu a jak vnímají turistický ruch, který je pro tuto oblast v letních měsících typický. V modelovém území byla zjištěna silná národní identita, spolu s identitou lokální. Rovněž je zde velký podíl obyvatel považujících se za patrioty svého mikroregionu. Pohled na turistický ruch je velmi rozporuplný. Obyvatelé vnímají jak pozitivní, tak negativní stránky turismu v oblasti a rozdíly jsou patrné i mezi jednotlivými částmi regionu.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis is focused on the topic of the Regional identities of the population. The model area consists of the municipalities of the Vranovsko microregion, which is part of the Znojmo ORP and located in the South Moravian Region. This territory was chosen for its specific peripheral location and history. In the first part of the thesis, the essential notions of the problematics are determined and defined, the model area is specified, and the potential for the formation of regional identity is examined. Within the practical part of the work, a questionnaire survey was conducted, and the regional identity of the habitants of the microregion was investigated. A partial goal was also to find out what the residents of the region consider to be a symbol of the microregion and how they perceive tourism, which is typical for this area during the summer. A robust national identity was found in the model area, together with a local individuality. There is also a large proportion of the population considering themselves as patriots of their microregion. The opinion of tourism is very contradictory. Residents perceive both positive and negative aspects of tourism in the area, and differences are also evident between various parts of the region.
