Coffee and its sociocultural aspects

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá kávou a jejími sociokulturními aspekty. Cílem práce je na příkldech vybraných kavárenských provozoven specifického zaměření analyzovat sociokulturní aspekty kávy a navrhnout dotyčným provozovnám změny ve vztahu ke zjištěným poznatkům. Po vymezení teoretické oblasti spojené s kávou a kavárenstvím v obecném měřítku, byly popsány její sociální a kulturní aspekty. Na základě analýzy šesti kaváren se specifickým zaměřením vyplynulo, že provoz kavárenských zařízení se sociáním zaměřením je dotován třetím subjektem. Všechny takové provozovny byly zřizovány neziskovými organizacemi, jež ze své podstaty prostřednictvím fundrasingu vyžadují finanční podporu další strany. Dále bylo prokázáno, že kavárny s kulturním konceptem mají oproti propagaci nezáměrné nízkou úroveň vlastního řízeného marketingu. Těmto zařízením byly navrženy přístupy pro zlepšení jejich stávající situace, přístupy pro proniknutí do myslí potenciálních zákazníků a doporučení pro udržení zákazníků stálých. Z dotazníkového průzkumu 175 respondentů bylo dále zjištěno, že nadpoloviční většina dotázaných - 71% vyjádřila názor, že kavárenská zařízení mají vliv na sociální a kulturní život ve společnosti. Z dotazníkového šetření vyplynulo, že 48 % respondentů, kteří nebyli zákazníky analyzovaných provozoven, by mělo zájem navštívit v budoucnosti kavárnu se sociokulturním konceptem. Autorka dospěla k závěru, že kavárny se specifickým zaměřením mají potenciál dalšího rozvoje. Koncept zařízení však není vždy zárukou úspěšného fungování. Je nezbytné, aby všichni zúčastnění jejich provozu investovali hmotné i nehmotné prostředky, naplnili očekávání svých hostů a v případě sociálně zaměřených provozoven udrželi jejich původní myšlenku.

Abstract:

The main issue this dissertation addresses concerns coffee and its social and its sociocultural aspects. The main aim of this dissertation is to analyse particular cofffee houses with specific thematic orientation in terms of their sociocultural aspects while suggesting them the possible improvements based on the findings of this research.After presenting the theoretical Framework connected to coffee and coffee houses in general, its social and cultural aspects were outlined.Based on the analysis of six coffee houses with their specific orientation, the following conclusions were reached. Cofee houses with social thematic orientation are usually funded by the third party.These kind of coffee houses have been set up by non-governmental organizations, which ask for their financial support via fundrasing. The coffee houses with particular cultural concent have lower level of their own management marketing. Coffee houses also obtained advices for their further enhancement as well as they were recommended possible approaches helping them to gain new customers and keep the old ones.From the questionnaire of 175 respondents the following results. Firts, more than a half of the respondents – 71 % think that coffee houses have an influence on the social and cultural life of the society. Second, 48 % of the respondents, who wasn´t visit the coffee houses this dissertation concerns, would like to visit a coffee house with specific socioculturtal concept in the future.The author came to the conclusion that coffee houses with the specific thematic orientation have the potential for their future evolvement.However, the concept of the coffee house sis not always a guarantee for its successful performance.If the coffee house want to be successfulm i tis vital for its staff to invest all the material but also non- material means to make their customers happy.In case of the coffee houses with the social concept i tis necessary to follow the primary idea set at the begining when opening the coffee house.
