The issue of prevention of breast cancer in health education

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá problematikou samovyšetření prsu u žen. Cílem je zjistit, do jaké míry jsou ženy informovány o rizikových faktorech a prevenci nádorového onemocnění prsu, včetně metody samovyšetření prsu. Diplomová práce vychází z tradičních metod práce, jakými jsou analýza knih a konzultace s odborníky pro danou oblast. Teoretická část diplomové práce uvádí přehled informací o epidemiologii rakoviny prsu, typech nádorů, rizikových faktorech, vyšetřovacích metodách a organizacích zaměřených na prevenci rakoviny prsu. Nezbytná je kapitola zabývající se samovyšetřováním prsu, popisující instruktáž postupu a motivace pro pravidelné samovyšetření prsu. Empirická část seznamuje s výsledky dotazníkového šetření, zda ženy mají dostatek informací o samovyšetření prsu. Součástí empirické části je interpretace ilustrativních kazuistik od lékaře a ženy v remisi po prodělaném nádorovém onemocnění prsu.

Abstract:

The thesis deals with the issue of breast self-examination in women. The aim is to find out to what extent women are informed about the risk factors and prevention of breast cancers including breast self-examination methods. The thesis is based on the traditional methods of work, such as the analysis of books and consultations with experts of the area. The theoretical part of the thesis presents an overview of of information on the epidemiology of breast cancer, types tumours , risk factors , diagnostic methods and organizations focused on the prevention of breast cancer. There is a necessary a chapter dealing with breast self-examination, describing the process and motivation of regular breast self-examination. The empirical part introduces the results of a survey that women have enough information about breast self-examination. The empirical part also includes the interpretation of illustrative case´ reports from physician and women in remission after suffering breast cancer tumor.
