Abstract:

V minulosti boli počítače používané len na výpočty, neskôr sa začali používať aj na písanie dokumentov, tvorbu prezentácií, plánovaní a tak ďalej. V súčastnosti, sa ľudia pokúšajú využiť ich aj na sofostikovanejšie úlohy ako je inteligentné ukladanie a vyhľadávanie informácií. Navyše, skúšajú naučiť počítače aby spracovávali zložité úlohy sami. Vedecká disciplína zaoberajúca sa ,,učením” počítačov niečomu užitočnému sa nazýva strojove učenie (Machine Learning). Ľudia musia riešiť množstvo problémov, ktoré stále nie su dostatočne preádané, úloh, kde može nastať nejaká neočakávaná udalosť, úloh, obsahujúcich veľké množstvo šumu. Je problematické a často nemožné modelovať takéto úlohy pomocou klasických logických modelov, ale stále je potrebné tieto úlohy riešiť. Strojové učenie je závislé len od vstupných dát (príkladov), nepotrebuje špecifickú doménovú znalosť, preto je vhodným kandidátom na riešenie popísaných problémov. Samozrjeme, aj strojové učenie má veľa nevýhod a nie vždy je úspešné. Dizertačná práca je zameraná na spracovanie zložitých medicínskych a environmentálnych dát. Na spracovanie týchto dát sú použité metódy s učiteľom a bez učiteľa. Na začiatku bude podaný krátky popis základných problémov, ktorým musí strojové učenie čeliť. Neskôr, metódy strojového učenia budú použité na klasifikáciu a zhlukovanie zložitých a zašumených medicínskych a environmentálnych dát.

Abstract:

In the past, computers were used just for computing, later on, they were also used for writing, making presentations, planning, and so on. Nowadays, people are trying to use them to do more sophisticated tasks such as intelligent storing and retrieval of information. Moreover, people are trying to teach computers how to do some difficult and complicated tasks themselves. A scientific field which tries to teach the computers to do some learning is called Machine Learning (ML). People have to solve a lot of problems which are not well-understood yet, tasks where some unexpected events can happen, problems which contain noise, and so on. In this kind of tasks, it is problematic to employ some standard math or logical models but still, it is necessary to solve them somehow. Since ML is based only on input data and does not need any domain-specific knowledge, it is a good possibility for these tasks. Of course, the machine learning approach is not always a success, it has a lot of disadvantages and hidden difficulties. This thesis is focused on the processing of difficult medical and environmental data. More specifically, it employs various algorithms from supervised and unsupervised type of learning. At the beginning, a short description of some basic machine learning issues will be given. Later on, ML methods will be employed in the clustering and classifying of some difficult and noisy data from the medical and environmental domains.
