Analysis of water balance and suggestion of cultivation measures for improvement of water regime in beech stand at Training Forestry Enterprise Masarykův les Křtiny

Abstract:

Cílem práce bylo zhodnocení struktury vybraného segmentu lesa, jeho vodní bilance a následný návrh pěstebních opatření, které by vedly ke zmírnění dopadů měnícího se klimatu. Práce je zaměřena na bukový porost. Z výsledků práce vyplývá, že při dané struktuře zkoumaného segmentu byla hodnota fyzického výparu (intercepce) jako výdejová složka vodní bilance poměrně vysoká (38 % z celkového ročního úhrnu srážek) a naopak stok po kmeni a podkorunové srážky jako příjmová složka vodní bilance nižší (dohromady 62 %).Dále bylo zjištěno, že výchovným zásahem lze ovlivnit především výši transpirace, která dosahovala také vysokých hodnot. Příjmovou složku vodní bilance (310 mm/m2) převyšovala transpirace s hodnotou 410 mm/m2 o 100 mm/m2 tedy o 35 %.

Abstract:

The aim of the thesis was evaluation of the structure of the preselected forest segment, its water balance and the subsequent proposal of a silvicultural measure that would lead to mitigation of the impacts of the changing climate. The work focused on beech stands. From the results of the work it was found that interception (expenditure component of water balance) was relatively high (38 % of total atmospheric precipitation) in current structure of the forest segment. And, on the other hand, water flow thought the stem and through-crown precipitation (income components of water balance) were lower (together 62 %) in current structure of the forest segment.Furthermore, it was found that the silvicultural treatment can primarily affect the amount of transpiration, which also reached high values. The value of transpiration was 410 mm/m2 and it was higher than the income components of the water balance (310 mm/m2) about 100 mm/m2 (i.e. 35 %).
