Scouting in the early 21st century

Abstract:

Tématem diplomové práce je Skauting na počátku 21. století. Skauting je mezinárodní hnutí, jehož cílem je duchovní, morální, intelektuální, sociální a tělesná výchova mladých lidí. Dalším cílem je připravenost skautů pomáhat bližním, vlasti, přírodě a celému lidskému společenství. Všechny cíle skautingu jsou dosahovány neformální cestou vzdělávání, zejména hrou. Skauting je životní styl. Je to životní styl lidí, kteří se rozhodli žít podle skautského slibu a zákona. Diplomová práce je rozdělena do dvou částí. Teoretická část se zaměřuje na historii, vývoj, význam, metody a strategii skautského hnutí. Teoretická část práce se věnuje skautingu jako důležité součásti volného času dětí, mládeže a dospělých. Empirická část práce je založena na průzkumu, který se týká vnímání Junáka veřejností. Co motivuje člověka k vedení skautského oddílu nebo družiny? Šetření se pokusí na tuto otázku odpovědět. Výsledky budou porovnávány s ostatními výzkumy, které se zaměřují na podobné otázky.

Abstract:

The topic of the diploma degree paper is Scouting in the early 21st century. Scouting is an international movement whose aim is spiritual, moral, intellectual, social and physical education of young people. Another goal is the readiness of people to perform the obligation to ourselves, neighbors, home, nature and the whole human community. All tasks of Scouting are achieved by informal education, especially by game. Scouting is a lifestyle. It is lifestyle of person who decided to live according to the scout oath and law. My final thesis is divided into two parts. The theoretical part is focused on history, development, importance, methods and strategy of Junák – Association of Boy Scouts and Girl Guides. The theoretical part of the thesis is devoted to Scouting as an important component of leisure time of children, youth and adults. The empirical part of the paper is based on a survey concerning the public perception of Junák. What motivates a person to lead the scout group? The research will try to answer this question. Some results will be compared with other studies that focus on similar issues.
