Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá fenoménem oprav a chyb ve výuce angličtiny jakožto cizího jazyka na českých středních školách. První část této práce prezentuje dosavadní zjištění teoretiků a výzkumníků z oblasti vzdělávání. Tato část práce se zabývá i konverzační analýzou, metodou použitou v praktické části diplomové práce. Cílem výzkumu bylo zjistit, jaké praktiky používají účastníci výuky k opravě chyb a jak volba těchto praktik ovlivňuje interakci ve výuce. Pro analýzu byly použity nahrávky tří hodin angličtiny (každá v délce 45 minut), které čítají celkem 559 řádků (133 645 znaků) výzkumného materiálu přepsaného podle konvencí konverzační analýzy. Pro účely této práce bylo vybráno dvacet úryvků, které reprezentovaly určitý přístup k opravě. Na základě zjištění této analýzy jsou pak v diskuzi prezentována různá doporučení nejen pro další výzkum, ale i budoucnost výuky anglického jazyka.

Abstract:

This diploma thesis deals with the phenomena of error and repair in teaching English as a foreign language in Czech secondary schools. The first part of this thesis presents the already existing findings of theorists and researchers in the educational field. This part of the thesis also deals with the conversation analysis, the method applied in the practical part of this diploma thesis. The aim of the research was to explore what repair practices are used by classroom participants in order to repair error and how the choice of these practices influences the classroom interaction. Recordings of three 45-minute-long lessons were used for the analysis, amounting to 559 lines (133,645 characters) of research material transcribed using the conventions of the conversation analysis. For the purposes of this thesis, twenty excerpts were chosen, which represented particular approaches to repair. Based on the findings of this analysis, various recommendations for further research as well as for the possible development in the field of English language teaching are presented in the Discussion part of this thesis.
