E-learning platforms for corporate education

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá problematikou elektronického vzdělávání pracovníků ve firmách, následném představení softwarových programů určených k online vzdělávání a vyhodnocení efektivity vybraných LMS (Learning Management System). Práce je rozdělena na část teoretickou a praktickou. Teoretická část se v úvodu věnuje firemnímu vzdělávání a obecnému vymezení pojmu „e-learning“. K tomuto výrazu se připojují jeho formy, výhody, ale naopak i nevýhody. Poslední teoretická část popisuje LMS v obecném slova smyslu a zmiňuje nejčastěji využívané systémy pro řízení výuky. Praktická část bakalářské práce se zabývá analýzou e-learningových systémů. V této části jsou analyzovány vybrané LMS pomocí zvolené metody komparace. V rámci praktického šetření byly porovnávány dva e-learningové systémy dle předem stanovených kritérií. Vybranými systémy byly Moodle a iTutor. Závěr bakalářské práce tvoří zhodnocení a porovnání výše zmíněných systémů a shrnutí několika možných strategií, vedoucí k výběru vhodného LMS prostředí.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis focuses on the topic of e-learning of company employees and subsequent presentation of software programs created for online learning and evaluation of effectiveness of selected Learning Management Systems (LMS). The work is divided into two parts – theoretical and practical. In the first section of the theoretical part, we take a look at education in the corporate environment and general definition of the term „e-learning“. This term is explained along with its forms, benefits and also downsides. The last section of the theoretical part describes LMS in the general sense of the word and mentions most commonly used systems for teaching management. The practical part of the bachelor’s thesis deals with analysis of the e-learning systems. In this part, the chosen LMSs are analysed through selected methods of comparison. As a part of practical investigation two e-learning systems were compared with accordance to criteria established beforehand. The systems chosen for this were Moodle and iTutor. The conclusion of the bachelor’s thesis is constituted of evaluation and comparison of the formerly mentioned systems and summarization of several possible strategies leading to the selection of a suitable LMS medium.
