The War in Ukraine from the perspective of human security

Abstract:

Tato práce se v nejširší perspektivě zabývá fenoménem human security, vývojem, obsahem i smyslem tohoto konceptu, který prozkoumává na konkrétním případě války na Ukrajině. Metodologicky se opírá o tematické monografie erudovaných badatelů: docentky Š. Waisové v oblasti otázek bezpečnosti, profesora J. Eichlera odborníka na bezpečnostní otázky a terorismus a odborníků v oblasti mezinárodního práva a lidských práv docentky V. Bílkové a docenta J. Ondřeje. Ve své analytické části pak přináší rozbor výstupů a závěrů mezinárodních vyšetřovacích komisí OSN působících přímo na Ukrajině. Analytické poznatky pak doplňuje konfrontace se souborem výpovědí ukrajinských uprchlíků, které autorka této práce natočila při práci v humanitárním sektoru. Současně jsou v diplomové práci uvedeny segmenty rozhovorů natočených s Petrou Procházkovou válečnou zpravodajkou, Vladimírem Dzurem vyšetřovatelem Mezinárodního trestního tribunálu v Haagu a Magdou Faltovou ředitelkou Sdružení pro migraci a integraci cizinců. Diplomová práce je tak analýzou nejen teoretických přístupů, ale zároveň přináší neocenitelné rozbory dat a důsledků války na human security.

Abstract:

In the broadest perspective,this thesis deals with the concept of human security, its development, content and meaning, which it explores through the specific case of the war in Ukraine. Methodologically, it relies on thematic monographs of erudite researchers: associate professor Š. Waisová in the field of security issues, professor J. Eichler, an expert in security issues and terrorism, and experts in the field of international law and human rights, associate professor V. Bílková and associate professor J. Ondřej. The analytical part includes an analysis of the outputs and conclusions of international UN commissions of inquiry working directly in Ukraine. The analytical findings are then complemented by a confrontation with a set of testimonies of Ukrainian refugees that the author of this thesis collected while working in the humanitarian sector.The thesis also includes segments of interviews conducted by the author with Petra Procházková, war correspondent, Vladimír Dzur, investigator of the International Criminal Tribunal in The Hague, and Magda Faltová, director of the Association for Integration and Migration of Foreigners. The thesis thus brings not only a description and analysis of theoretical approaches to the issue of human security, but also confronts them with their real implementation in the conditions of war conflict based on the analysis of war consequences and data collected from the testimonies of particular people affected by war.
