Interdisciplinary Integration in Music Education at Primary School

Abstract:

Tato diplomová práce se zabývá mezioborovou integrací v hudební výchově na 1. stupni základní školy. Práce je teoreticko-empirického charakteru, první část se věnuje teoretickému ukotvení základních pojmů a východisek problematiky. V empirické části je představen výzkum, jehož cílem bylo zjistit, jak učitelé uplatňují mezioborovou integraci v hudební výchově na 1. stupni základní školy. Data byla získána prostřednictvím dotazníku a strukturovaného rozhovoru. Výzkumný soubor dotazníkového šetření tvořilo 342 učitelů 1. stupně základních škol České republiky, z toho 10 učitelů participovalo na rozhovoru. Bylo zjištěno časté využití mezioborové integrace v hudební výchově na 1. stupni základní školy, především v propojení s českým jazykem. Učitelé s délkou praxe nad 10 let integrují jiné předměty do hudební výchovy častěji a využívají více konstruktivistické organizační formy. Mezioborová integrace je učiteli hodnocena pozitivně a převažují benefity. Hlavním problémem je nedostatek času mimo další úskalí, která brání koordinovanému využívání tohoto přístupu. Výsledky práce jsou v závěru diskutovány a porovnány se zjištěními dalších studií.

Abstract:

This thesis deals with interdisciplinary integration in music education in primary school. It is both theoretical and empirical in nature. The first part is devoted to the theoretical anchoring of the basic concepts and background of the issue. The empirical part presents research focused on methods teachers use for interdisciplinary integration in primary school music education. The research sample consists of 342 Czech primary school teachers, out of which 10 participated in the interview. The data were collected through a questionnaire and a structured interview. The frequent use of interdisciplinary integration in music education in primary school was found, especially in connection with the Czech language. Teachers with more than ten years of experience exhibited integration of other subjects into music education more frequently and used more constructivist organizational forms. Interdisciplinary integration is evaluated positively by teachers, and its benefits prevail. However, the main challenge to its implementation is the lack of time. The results of the thesis are discussed in conclusion and compared with the findings of other studies.
