Removing of free fatty acids from biodiesel

Abstract:

Tato práce se zabývá odstraňováním volných mastných kyselin (FFA) z esterové fáze, vzniklých po neutralizaci katalyzátoru kyselinou fosforečnou. Mastné kyseliny byly převedeny hydroxidem vápenatým, na vápenatá mýdla a vzniklá suspenze byla separována centrifugací. Byl sledován vliv nezávisle proměnných (vstupní číslo kyselosti, molární poměr hydroxidu vápenatého a FFA, přídavek vody, rychlost míchání reakční směsi, čas procesu srážení, teplota procesu srážení, čas centrifugace výsledné reakční směsi) na průběh odstraňování FFA. Měření byla prováděna na základě statistického plánování pokusů podle návrhu Plackett-Burman. Byly provedeny tři série pokusů, jejichž cílem bylo určit hodnoty nezávisle proměnných, které by vedly k zisku bionafty, která by svými vlastnostmi odpovídala hodnotám daných normou EN 14 214. Vyhodnocování bylo prováděno pomoci lineárního modelu programem QC-Expert.

Abstract:

This work dealt with the removal of free fatty acids (FFA) from the ester phase formed after neutralization with phosphoric acid catalyst. Fatty acids were converted calcium hydroxide to calcium soaps, and the resulting suspension was separated by centrifugation. The influence of the independent variables (input acid number, the molar ratio of calcium hydroxide and FFA, addition of water, the stirring rate of the reaction mixture, time of the precipitation process, precipitation process temperature, time of centrifugation of the resulting reaction mixture) on the course of removing FFA. Measurements were carried out on the basis of statistical planning of experiments designed by Plackett-Burman. There were three series of experiments designed to determine the values of the independent variables, which would lead to the profits of biodiesel, which by their properties correspond to the values given by the EN 14 214. The evaluation was performed using a linear model QC-Expert program.
