Perception of the workload, hardiness and optimism social workers

Abstract:

Tato bakalářská práce se zabývá percepcí pracovní zátěže, psychickou odolností v pojetí hardiness a optimismem pracovníků sociálních služeb. Hlavním cílem práce je zjistit, zda existuje vzájemná souvislost mezi zmíněnými fenomény a ověřit souvislost fenoménu hardiness s věkem jedince. Teoretická část práce se zaměřuje na exploraci daných fenoménů z odborné literatury a poukazuje na vzájemnou souvislost mezi zkoumanými fenomény. Na základě teoretických poznatků je provedeno výzkumné šetření pomocí inventářů Personal View Survey a Levy optimisms-pesimism scale, které měří psychickou odolnost a dispoziční optimismus. Pro vyhodnocení percepce pracovní a mimopracovní zátěže byly užity otázky s možností odpovědi na Likertově škále. Výzkumný soubor celkově tvořilo 108 sociálních pracovníků. Pomocí korelační analýzy byl zjištěn vzájemný vztah mezi hardiness a optimismem. Z regresní analýzy vyplývá, že s rostoucím skóre v hardiness, mírně stoupá hodnota pesimismu. Nejvýraznější vzájemný vztah byl mezi komponentou odhodlání a optimismem. Mezi skórem v hardiness a věkem respondenta, nebyla nalezená signifikantní souvislost.

Abstract:

This bachelor thesis deals with the perception of workload, psychological resilience in the concept of hardiness and optimism of social workers. The main goal of the work is to find out whether there is a mutual connection between the mentioned phenomena and to verify the connection between the phenomenon of hardiness and the age of the individual. The theoretical part of the work focuses on the exploration of the phenomena from the literature and points at the relationship between the studied phenomena. Based on theoretical knowledge a research survey is conducted using the inventories Personal View Survey and Levy optimisms-pessimism scale that measures mental resilience and dispositional optimism. Work and non-work related load were evaluated based on question's with the answer options within Likert scale. The research group consisted of a total of 108 social workers. Using correlation analysis the relationship between hardiness and optimism was found. The regression analysis shows that with increasing hardiness scores the value of pessimism increases slightly. The most significant relationship was between the commitment component and optimism. No dependence was found between the score in hardiness and the age of the respondent.
