Novel Santa (1903) is one of the most important works of Mexican writer Federico Gamboa, who also acted as a diplomat during a political regime called Porfiriato. The plot takes place in the Capital of Mexico during the rise of capitalism, where the protagonist is trying to survive as a prostitute. Děj se odehrává v hlavním městě Mexika v době nastupujícího kapitalismu, kdy se protagonistka snaží uživit pomocí prostituce.
