T: Contemporary Japanese Photography in 21th Century

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zabývá současnou Japonskou fotografií. Jejím cílem je poukázat na odlišnosti západní fotografie a na trendy, které si z ní naopak vzala. Prací mě bude provádět kniha Charlotty Cottonové „The Photograph as Contemporary Art“, která nám pomůže ukázat vliv fotografie světové. V další části naopak upozorním na znaky, které jsou naopak ryze japonské, ty nás navedou k tamnější estetice a filozofickým formám, které jsou zde s uměním úzce spjaty.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis deals with contemporary Japanese photography. Its aim is to point out the differences of Western photography and the trends it has taken from it. I will be guided through the work by Charlotte Cotton's book "The Photograph as Contemporary Art", which will help to show the influence of world photography. In the next section, on the other hand, I will point out features that are, on the contrary, purely Japanese, these will guide us to the more local aesthetics and philosophical forms that are closely linked to art there.
