The role of social workers in serving a prison term

Abstract:

Diplomová práce se zabývá rolí sociálního pracovníka při výkonu trestu odnětí svobody a samotným pohledem odsouzených na jejich výkon trestu. Cílem práce je vyhodnotit informace získané za pomoci polostrukturovaných rozhovorů s odsouzenými a dozorci a na základě zjištěného navrhnout možné řešení na realizaci výsledku v praxi. Vyhodnocení je zaměřeno na zlepšení současné situace v problematice sociální práce ve vězeňství a na snížení míry recidivy v České republice. V první části této diplomové práce je charakterizována sociální práce a sociální práce ve vězeňství, jejich historické souvislosti, proces trestního řízení, druhy trestů, Vězeňská služba České republiky, typy věznic před a po redukci věznic v roce 2017 a průběh výkonu trestu odnětí svobody. Ve druhé části diplomové práce, v části výzkumné, je objasněna metoda výzkumného šetření, na jehož základě je výzkum zrealizován. Na základě výzkumného šetření je navrhnuto řešení pro přínosnější účel výkonu trestu odnětí svobody.

Abstract:

The diploma thesis deals with the role of social workers in serving a prison term and the very view of the convicts on their serving a prison term. The aim of the thesis is to evaluate the information obtained with the help of semi-structured interviews with convicts and supervisors and, based on the findings, to propose a possible solution for the implementation of the result in practice. The evaluation is aimed at improving the current situation in the issue of social work in prisons and at reducing the rate of recidivism in the Czech Republic. In the first part of this thesis is characteristics of social work and social work in prisons, their historical context, the process of criminal proceedings, types of punishments, the Prison Service of the Czech Republic, types of prisons before and after the reduction of prisons in 2017 and process serving a prison sentence. In the second part of the diploma thesis, in the research part is explained the method of research investigation on the basis of which the research is carried out. Based on the research investigation, a solution is proposed for a more beneficial purpose of serving the prison sentence.
