Abstract:
This thesis deals with idioms, idiomatic expressions and their translations. It compares various definitions and selected classifications of idioms. At first the term idiom is introduced. The origin and history of usage of idioms and idiomatic expressions will be also briefly covered. In the second part the possible approaches towards idiom translations will be searched for. Abstract:
Bakalářská práce se zabývá idiomy, idiomatickými výrazy a jejich překladem. Porovnává různé definice a klasifikace idiomů. V první části se seznámíme s pojmem idiom. Také téma historie a původu užívaní idiomů a idiomatických výrazů je stručně zmíněno. Druhá část se zabývá hledáním možných metod překladů idiomů. Na základě porovnaných studií bychom chtěli najít návod pro překlad idiomů.
