Abstract:

Bakalářská práce The Hair Musical and American Society - Mutual Inspiration se zaměřuje na vznik a vývoj muzikálu Vlasy. Sledováním jeho významu mezi ostatními broadwayskými muzikály zároveň zkoumá obecné historické pozadí jeho původu a popisuje tak události konkrétní části historie USA. Nejen že se zaobírá samotnými historickými fakty, pokouší se v nich vyzdvihnout prvky společenského života američanů a předně jejich vyobrazení v daném muzikálu. Snaží se dokázat, že inspirace momentální náladou a událostmi ve společnosti byla hlavním důvodem samotného vzniku muzikálu. Následně ukazuje, že díky síle navázání na americkou společnost byla muzikálem zpětně ovlivněna také společnost samotná, což hodlá dokázat na reakcích publika i odborných kritiků a dalším vývoji muzikálu až dodnes.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis is focused on the evolution of the Hair musical. By following its place among other musicals on Broadway it explores general historical background of its origin and therefore describes the events of particular part of history in the United States. Not only the thesis deals with basic historical facts, it also tries to highlight the social part of life of Americans and consequently it examines it’s portrayal in the musical. It tries to prove that the inspiration of immediate social mood and events was the main reason for its creation. Subsequently it shows that also thanks to this strong links to American society it mutually strongly influenced the American society. The strenghth of such influence is attempted to be demonstrated by the reactions of audience and critics and further development of the musical up to today.
