Mineral associations of secondary fissure phosphates depending on the host rock type of the Bohemian Massif

Abstract:

V Českém masivu se vyskytuje množství lokalit s výskytem sekundárních fosfátů vázaných na pukliny hostitelských hornin. Typ těchto hornin částečně předurčuje charakter jednotlivých fosfátových asociací. V rámci této dizertační práce byly vyčleněny hlavní typy hostitelských hornin a podrobně studovány vybrané minerální asociace. Součástí práce je 5 přiložených publikací, které řeší následující témata zaměřená především na fosfáty železa: 1)Problematiku nomenklatury minerálů beraunitové skupiny, redefinici beraunitu (Fe3+6(PO4)4O(OH)4⋅6H2O) na základě studia typového materiálu a diskreditaci minerálu eleonoritu. 2)Definování nového minerálního druhu ferroberaunitu (Fe2+Fe3+5(PO4)4(OH)5⋅6H2O), studium jeho struktury a stanovení poměru Fe2+/Fe3+ pomocí monokrystalové rentgenové difrakce v kombinaci s rentgenovou fotoelektronovou spektroskopií (XPS). 3) Studium asociace fosfátů s fluorwavellitem, strengitem, fosfosideritem, variscitem, kakoxenem a velmi vzácným tvrdýitem a allanpringitem na historickém ložisku Fe rud Krušná Hora u Berouna. 4) Výzkum molekulární struktury koninckitu z Fe-Mn bohatých břidlic v Litošicích za pomoci Ramanovy a infračervené spektroskopie. 5) Studium Mn-bohatého beraunitu, strunzitu a fosfosideritu na Fe-Mn ložisku Morašice. Součástí práce jsou i další, částečně publikovaná data získaná během přípravy této studie.

Abstract:

In the Bohemian Massif, there are many localities with the occurrence of secondary phosphates bound to the fissures of the host rocks. The type of these rocks partly determines the character of individual phosphate associations. As a part of this thesis, the main types of the host rocks were classified and selected mineral associations were studied in detail. An integral part of this thesis includes five attached publications focused mainly on iron the phosphates and dealing with the following topics: 1) The issue of nomenclature of beraunite group minerals, redefinition of beraunite (Fe3+6(PO4)4O(OH)4⋅6H2O) based on the study of the type material and the discrediting of the mineral eleonorite. 2) Definition of a new mineral species ferroberaunite (Fe2+Fe3+5(PO4)4(OH)5⋅6H2O), study of its structure and determination of Fe2+/Fe3+ ratio using single crystal X-ray diffraction in combination with X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy (XPS). 3) Study of the association of phosphates with fluorwavellite, strengite, phosphosiderite, variscite, cacoxenite and the very rare tvrdýite and allanpringite at the historical iron deposit of Krušná Hora near Beroun. 4) Research of the molecular structure of koninckite from Fe-Mn-rich shale in Litošice using Raman and infrared spectroscopy. 5) Study of Mn-rich beraunite, strunzite and phosphosiderite at the Morašice Fe-Mn deposit. The work also includes other, partially published data obtained during the preparation of this study.
