Analysis of public and private costs on health in selected countries

Abstract:

Za vznikem této práce stojí snaha o analýzu soukromých a veřejných výdajů na zdravotnictví ve Spojených státech amerických, Velké Británii, Německu, Slovensku a samozřejmě i v České republice. Samotným jádrem práce je tedy popis principů, dle kterých jednotlivé zdravotnické systémy fungují. Následuje charakteristika struktury financování zdravotnictví, která se dělí na soukromé výdaje, tedy ty, které si občané platí tzv. ze svého, a veřejné výdaje ze státního rozpočtu nebo zdravotních pojišťoven. Hlavním přínosem této práce je seznámení veřejnosti s efektivností využívání finančních zdrojů v oblasti poskytování zdravotní péče a poukázaní na fakt, že největší množství vynaložených prostředků nutně nemusí korespondovat s nejvyšší kvalitou lékařské péče.

Abstract:

The purpose of this work is to analyze the private and public spending on health care in the United States, Great Britain, Germany, Slovak and of course in the Czech Republic. The core of the work is a description of the principles according to which individual health systems work. The work also presents an overview of the structure of health care financing, which is divided into private expenditure, i.e. those that citizens pay from its public expenditure from the state budget or from health insurance companies. The main contribution of this work is to acquaint the reader with the efficiency of the use of resources in the provision of health care and to point out that the largest amount of the expended funds do not necessarily correspond with the highest quality of the medical care.
