Social desirable responding causes bias in outcomes of psychological research, mainly when measuring sensitive issues such as marital satisfaction. Sociálne žiaduce odpovedanie skresľuje výsledky psychologického výskumu najmä pri meraní citlivých tém, akou je napríklad manželská spokojnosť. Predpokladá sa, že religiózni jedinci majú vyššiu tendenciu odpovedať sociálne žiaducim spôsobom a to môže byť jednou z príčin, prečo udávajú vyššiu manželskú spokojnosť ako ateisti.
