Support the development of fine motor skills and self sufficiency skills for children with mental disabilities in preschool period

Abstract:

Anotace Diplomová práce se zabývá rozvojem jemné motoriky a sebeobslužných činností u dětí s mentálním postižením předškolního věku. Teoretická část diplomové práce je rozdělena do tří kapitol. V úvodu je popsána osobnost dítěte s mentálním postižením, jsou zde vymezeny pojmy mentální retardace, diagnostika mentální retardace a charakteristika dětí s mentálním postižením dle stupňů mentální retardace. Následuje kapitola zabývající se obsahem předškolního vzdělávání, jehož východiskem je Rámcový vzdělávací program pro předškolní vzdělávání. Jsou zde popsána také specifika vzdělání dětí se speciálními vzdělávacími potřebami. Výzkumná část diplomové práce nabízí popis zvolené řady cviků pro rozvoj jemné motoriky a analýzu dané metodiky na základě jejího dlouhodobého aplikování u výzkumného vzorku dětí. Jemná motorika a prvky sebeobsluhy představují funkční oblasti, které je nezbytné u dětí s mentálním postižením záměrně stimulovat. Cílem práce je aplikace zvolených cviků pro rozvoj jemné motoriky rukou a prstů s využitím prvků sebeobsluhy a následné vyhodnocení dosažené úrovně v jednotlivých dovednostech a schopnostech u vybraných dětí.

Abstract:

Annotation The thesis focuses on the development of fine motor skills and self-care activities related to preschool children with mental disabilities. The theoretical part of the thesis is divided into three chapters. The first chapter focuses on the characteristics of children with mental disabilities and includes a brief definition of mental retardation, as well as its aetiology, classification and diagnostics. It is followed by a chapter containing the content of preschool education the starting point of which is a General Educational Programme as part of preschool education. The chapter also describes specifics of education of children with special educational needs. The third chapter maps the functional part of fine motor skills. The research part of the thesis offers a description of the selected series of exercises for the development of fine motor skills and analysis of the given methodology on the basis of its long-term application on a sample group of children. Fine motor skills and self-care elements represent functional areas that need to be deliberately stimulated in children with mental disabilities. The objective of the thesis is the application of selected exercises for the development of fine motor skills of hands and fingers, using elements of self-care and the subsequent evaluation of the achieved level of individual skills and abilities in selected children.
