Phrasemes in the Work of Michal Viewegh, Translation Criticism

Abstract:

This Master's thesis deals with phraseology and phrasemes. The aim of this thesis is to find and classify phrasemes from the book "Báječná léta pod psa" (in English: Wonderful years) written by Michal Viewegh. This thesis is devided into theoretical and practical part. In the teoretical part are described the phrasemes and their classification. In the next chapter are compared Czech and German phrasemes. The theoretical part includes the Michal Viewegh's biography and his books. There is also described the plot of the book Báječná léta pod psa. In the practical part of this thesis are listed the phrasemes found in the Czech version of the Book and compared with phrasemes found in the German version of the book. A part of this thesis is also a translation criticism of these phrasemes.

Abstract:

Diese Diplomarbeit beschäftigt sich mit Phraseologie und Phraseme. Das Ziel dieser Arbeit ist die Phraseme im Werk "Báječná léta pod psa" (auf Deutsch: Blendende Jahre für Hunde) von Michal Viewegh zu finden und zu klassifizieren. Diese Arbeit ist in zwei Teilen geteilt, und zwar in theoretischen und praktischen Teil. In dem theoretischen Teil werden die Phraseme und ihre Klassifizierung beschrieben. In dem nächsten Kapitel werden die tschechischen und deutschen Phraseme verglichen. In dem theoretischen Teil ist auch das Leben von Michal Viewegh und seine Werke beschrieben. Die Handlung des Buches "Báječná léta pod psa" ist hier auch erläutert. In dem praktischen Teil werden die Phraseme, die in der tschechischen Version des Buches gefunden wurden, aufgelistet und mit Phrasemen, die in der deutschen Version gefunden wurden, verglichen. Neben diesem Vergleich befindet sich in diesem Teil auch die Übersetzungskritik diesen Phrasemen.
