Virtualization?

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce „Virtualizace ?“ se zamýšlí nad přínosem virtualizačních technik pro dnešní organizace. Práce je omezena na komerčně dostupné produkty s jasným rozvojem a podporou. Úvod práce je věnován dnešním požadavkům na informační technologie, jejich důležitostí pro provoz organizace. V další části je čtenář seznámen se základními virtualizačními technikami a jejich vývoji v čase až do současnosti. Čtvrtá kapitola pojednává o možnostech virtualizace na softwarové a hardwarové vrstvě. Přenesení fyzického prostředí do virtuálního prostředí a potencionální úskalí této operace je obsahem 5. kapitoly. Změna provozního prostředí z fyzického do virtuálního může mít u některých produktů klíčový dopad na potřebný objem licencí – příklady pro inspiraci jsou uvedeny v šesté kapitole. Poslední kapitoly práce se zabývají bezpečností, riziky a ekonomickým zhodnocením virtualizace. V závěrečné kapitole jsou stručně shrnuty všechny poznatky, výhody i nevýhody virtualizace s použitím komerčního virtualizačního software, je zde prezentováno doporučení, zda se virtualizací zabývat či nikoli.

Abstract:

Bachelor thesis “Virtualization” intends about virtualization technology benefits for today’s organizations. The thesis is limited only to the commercially available products that are being developed and supported properly. The preface of the thesis is devoted to today’s requests for the information technology and their importance for organization’s operation. In next chapter, the reader gets familiar with basic virtualization techniques and their development since their inception to present time. Fourth chapter discusses possibilities of the virtualization on software and hardware layer. The physical to virtual environment migration and eventual difficulties of this operation are described in chapter 5. The physical to virtual working environment migration can have an impact on the amount of the key products licenses needed – the examples of such situation are listed in the chapter 6. Last bachelor thesis’s chapters are dealing with security, risks and economical evaluation of the virtualization. Final chapter briefly summarize all findings, advantages and disadvantages of the virtualization realized on commercial virtualization software. The “to deal” or “not to deal” with virtualization recommendation is defined there.
