Burnout syndrome and stress management in the advertising agency VCCP.

Abstract:

Cílem této diplomové práce je zjistit reálnou úroveň vyhoření na pozici Account manažer ve vybrané reklamní agentuře, zhodnocení aktuálně používaných metod stress managementu a nabídnout strategie zvládání stresu a zlepšení work-life balance s ohledem na specifika práce. Teoretická část diplomové práci je věnovaná klíčovým pojmům na zadané téma. Jsou rozebírané definice duševní hygieny, stres (jeho příčiny, druhy a metody zvládání), stresory, obzvlášť na pracovišti. Velká část je věnovaná i syndromu vyhoření, jeho průběhu, důvodům ke vzniku a znakům projevu. Poslední podkapitola je věnovaná konkrétní práci v reklamním businessu. Praktická část se věnuje kombinaci kvalitativních a kvantitativních metod. Pomocí polostrukturovaného rozhovoru s HR manažerkou je zjišťována současná úroveň zapojení metod stres managementu v běžné praxi a ohodnocení jejích vlivu na pracovní výkon a psychické zdraví Account manažerů. V rámci dotazníkového šetření se řeší úroveň vyhoření u vybraného výzkumného vzorku. Také se odhalují klíčové stresory na pracovišti a přístup k práci z pohledu prevence syndromu burnout.

Abstract:

The aim of this diploma thesis is to determine the real level of burnout in the position of Account Manager in a selected advertising agency, to evaluate the currently used methods of stress management and to offer strategies for managing stress and improving work-life balance with regard to the specifics of the job. The theoretical part of the diploma thesis is devoted to key terms on the given topic. Definitions of mental hygiene, stress (its causes, types and methods of coping), stressors, especially at the workplace, are discussed. A large part is devoted to the burnout syndrome, its course, reasons for its occurrence and signs of manifestation. The last sub-chapter is dedicated to specific work in the advertising business. The practical part is devoted to a combination of qualitative and quantitative methods. Using a semi-structured interview with an HR manager, the current level of involvement of stress management methods in everyday practice and the evaluation of its influence on the work performance and psychological health of Account managers is determined. As part of the questionnaire survey, the level of burnout in the selected research sample is addressed. Key stressors at the workplace and approach to work from the point of view of burnout prevention are also revealed.
