Monitoring of Power Transmission Transformers

Abstract:

Monitoring transformátorů je perspektivní cestou k dosažení a zajištění informací o aktuálním stavu klíčových komponent transformátorů za provozu. Předložená disertační práce je zaměřena zejména na zlepšení spolehlivosti, věrohodnosti a využitelnosti informací poskytovaných monitorovacími systémy výkonových transformátorů přenosové soustavy. V práci jsou popsány parametry vhodné ke sledování za účelem určení stavu jednotlivých podsystémů transformátoru. Dále je představena metodika analýzy a provedena samotná analýza generování hlášení z pohledu výskytu a překročení mezí monitorovaných veličin. V práci je podrobně diskutováno a stanoveno nastavení limitních hodnot hlášení jednotlivých veličin monitoringu pro typický transformátor instalovaný v přenosové soustavě dle skutečných podmínek provozu. Nedílnou součástí práce je i vytvořená expertní databáze znalostí a intepretací dat monitoringů vedoucí k užitečným informacím o aktuálním stavu důležitých komponent transformátoru. Dále je proveden návrh využívání výstupů z monitorovacích systémů k zajištění správných informací o stavu výkonových transformátorů přenosové soustavy pro podporu rozhodovacího procesu kompetentních pracovníků. Závěrem jsou představeny možné směry vývoje aktivit v oblasti monitoringů výkonových transformátorů. Tato práce vznikla ve spolupráci s provozovatelem přenosové soustavy ČEPS, a.s. v rámci projektu "Diagnostika a Life Cycle Management transformátorů", jehož je autor disertační práce jedním z hlavních řešitelů, a byla podpořena grantem Studentské grantové soutěže ZČU SGS 2012-026 "Materiálové a technologické systémy v elektrotechnice".

Abstract:

Monitoring of power transformers is a perspective way how to gather information about the actual condition of the power transformer critical components during operation. The submitted dissertation thesis is mainly focused on improvement of reliability, plausibility and utilization of information provided by monitoring systems installed on power transmission transformers. Parameters for condition monitoring of power transformers are described in the first part of this work. Methodology for analysis of the message generation from the point of view of frequency of their occurrence based on exceeding the pre-set thresholds as well as the analysis itself are presented in the second part of the thesis. Detailed configuration of the monitored parameters thresholds in order to trigger particular messages for a typical power transformer installed in the transmission network and working in real operational condition is discussed and proposed. Important part of this thesis is the expert knowledge and interpretation database of transformer monitoring data resulted in useful information about actual condition of the power transformer critical components. Furthermore, the concept of the monitoring outputs utilization is proposed, that can provide the qualified person with correct information about the power transformer's condition in time as a support for his decision making. Finally, the potential trends of the power transformer monitoring further development are mentioned. This thesis was carried out in co-operation with the Czech Transmission System Operator ČEPS, a. s. within the project "Diagnostics and Lifecycle Management of Transformers". The author of this thesis is one of the main researchers of this project. The thesis was supported by the Student Grant Agency of the University of West Bohemia in Pilsen, grant No. SGS-2012-026 "Material and Technology Systems in Electrical Engineering".
