Ortega y Gasset in the context of contemporary philosophy of technology

Abstract:

Bakalářská práce se zaměřuje na smýšlení José Ortegy y Gasseta v kontextu filozofie techniky. Vychází zejména z jeho textu s názvem Úvaha o technice, která je souborem 12 jeho přednášek z roku 1939. Ortegův názor je dále srovnáván s dobovým myšlením filosofů, minulého století. Součástí práce je shrnutí bodů týkajících se konfrontací v názorech obou stran vycházejících z této komparace. Pro lepší uchopení celé filosofie techniky, zde také uvedu v krátkosti její historii.

Abstract:

The bachelor thesis focuses on the thinking of José Ortega y Gasset in the context of philosophy of technology. It is based, in particular, on his text named The Reflection on Technique, which is a set of 12 of his lectures from 1939. Ortega's view is further compared with the period of thinking of people, especially of the last century. Part of the thesis is a summary of the points of confrontation in the opinions of both parties based on this comparison. For better understand of whole philosophy of technology i will also briefly present its history.
